Memorial Day weekend is just around the corner and here in Michigan, that means the kickoff to summer has arrived. Many Michiganders head up north to go camping, stay in waterfront cottages, and enjoy all our great state has to offer.

Whether you’re looking to mix up your annual traditions or you want to start a new one, Country Dairy is offering just the thing. We are hosting an event for the whole family: our first annual Bicycle Bonanza on Saturday, May 25th from 10 AM to 2 PM!

Yes, you read that right—bikes on a dairy farm. Read on for the details of our new program.

Bike rentals at Country Dairy

Country Dairy has recently launched a bicycle rental program to allow their customers to enjoy the nearby Hart-Montague trail. Fully paved and mostly flat, this beautiful trail provides sheltered picnic areas and restrooms along the route.

With three sizes of bikes available for rent plus helmets, pull-behind trailers, and baskets, you’ll find everything you need at Country Dairy to enjoy a ride with the whole family. This includes your four-legged friends!

If you prefer, you can also hit the trail with your own bikes. During the Bicycle Bonanza event, Breakaway Bicycles will be on hand to provide safety checks and minor bike repairs, so you might want to take advantage of this opportunity to get your own bikes tuned up for the summer.

Perks of the Bonanza

Any day is a great day to rent bikes from Country Dairy and enjoy the Hart-Montague trail, but our Bicycle Bonanza event has lots of extra perks to offer that are included with your registration. When you sign up, you will receive:

  • A Country Dairy cow spot bandana
  • A coupon for your choice of a free ice cream cone or pint of chocolate milk
  • A Country Dairy swag bag of surprises
  • A scavenger hunt guide to complete on your bike ride
  • Half-price bike rentals
  • A chance to win additional prizes

Since the event takes place over the lunch hour, there will also be picnic baskets available for purchase if you call ahead. Baskets will include ham or turkey sandwiches, chips, and Country Dairy chocolate milk.

Alternatively, once you finish your ride you can eat lunch at the Farm Store. Using our own farm fresh ingredients, our staff cooks up a wide selection of wraps, burgers, salads, and sandwiches daily. Each meal comes with a bottomless cup of Country Dairy milk!

All of these perks are included at the low price of $5 per person or $20 per family. Thanks to half-off bike rental pricing with that registration fee, our bike rentals will cost only $10 per bike for two hours, $17.50 per bike for four hours, or $25 per bike for eight hours. Remember, you can also bring your own bikes along, too.

If you’d like to order a pre-packed picnic basket, be sure to call the farm store at 231-259-0515 by Saturday, May 18th to reserve your meal and get information on pricing.

The bike rentals and fun perks are first come, first serve, so if your family is interested in joining us for the Bicycle Bonanza, be sure to sign up today on our Facebook page. This is also the place where you’ll find any updates about the event, including a postponement or cancellation due to unpredictable weather.

We look forward to kicking off a new tradition with you and your family here on the farm! See you on the trail.
